While it might not be as much fun as winging it, if you don't want to blow through your entire bankroll too quickly, you'll need to budget. Contrary to popular opinion, budgeting is not something which is limited to running a business or household. In fact, all successful players not only implement this live game strategy, but make sure to stick to it as well.

Start by determining how much money you have and how long you want that money to last. You'll want to divide the money out and establish an average bet amount. While you don't have to bet the same amount every time, it will give you an idea of how much you can safely bet without going through your money too quickly. If you are a more aggressive player you may have to settle for the fact that you might not be able to play as long if you always go large. However, players who bet very small amounts may not end up winning as much because while their bets are lower, so are their wins.

Another live game strategy that smart players use is setting limits in advance for when to walk away. If you are unfortunate enough to hit a losing streak, then you'll know when to quit before losing too much. Once you hit a losing streak, you generally won't win it back in the same session, so it's smart to set a comfortable loss amount and walk away. 

While this might sound odd, you'll also want to set an amount that you expect to win and walk away once you earn that. Why? Often times after winning, players will stick around and take riskier bets because they feel they can “afford” it. Rather than losing your money because your head isn't in the game, set an amount to walk away with and play again later when you are more focused.
